User Committee

The User Committee at Beitostølen Health and Sports Centre (BHSS) shall be a broadly composed and advisory body for BHSS's management, and a discussion arena for strategically important issues and processes related to the centre's role and social mission. The User Committee shall also be a forum for the development of user participation at BHSS. The User Committee meets four times a year.

In order for the User Committee to do the best possible job, they depend on users and others providing input to the committee's work. Input should be sent to the user committee's leader, Sidre Dahl-Øen, by email: sindre.oen@gmail.com

  • Participate in quality assurance of BHSS's offerings and services by participating directly or indirectly in the institution's planning processes of strategic importance

  • Promoting issues of importance to patients and relatives

  • Contribute to the further development of systematic user participation at BHSS

  • Promote user perspectives in the center's research and development work, and contribute user participation to projects, councils and committees appointed by BHSS

The user committee should not replace other user participation at BHSS, but should be in addition to ongoing user participation. The committee should be involved early in relevant issues and processes.

The user committee consists of a minimum of 7 members, and is appointed by the management of BHSS. The members are recruited from different health regions and from different user organizations so that the user committee has a high degree of legitimacy in the institution's user base. The user representatives who are appointed have experience as patients or relatives themselves and must maintain a holistic user perspective without representing special interests.

The term of office of the user committee is two years. Members may serve a maximum of three consecutive terms of appointment on the council, i.e. six years. When appointing/re-appointing, consideration must be given to continuity and renewal in the committee.
