Toddlers 2-4 years

Through activity testing and participation in adapted physical activity, we want to help develop the family's competence and abilities to be able to support the child in activities in the local environment.

Target group

The target group is children aged 2-4 years with various disabilities as a result of illness, injury or congenital conditions.

Due to geographical location and current pediatric expertise and preparedness, the child must be in a medically stable situation and clarified with regard to epilepsy, heart, lung and allergy/anaphylactic reactions in need of emergency medical care. The referring physician must believe that it is medically appropriate for a stay at Beitostølen Health Sports Center.

Objectives and content

  • The goal of the stay is to give the children general activity experience, joy of movement and increased skills, as well as give the family an early introduction to the use of current activity aids.

  • The program consists of 2-3 activity sessions and a gathering time daily. In addition to the daytime program, activities and a social program are provided in the afternoon and evening. The activities take place indoors and outdoors.

  • Parental guidance, information and education play a central role in the stay. The whole family is therefore invited to participate in the stay together.

  • Siblings of primary school age are offered homework help with a teacher during this period. It is important that the work plan from the school is included.

  • Local professionals are invited to attend professional days at Beitostølen Health Sports Center during their stay. Read more about the professional days .
