During your stay
The center has rooms of varying sizes and levels of accessibility. We also have 12 family apartments, each with beds for six. All rooms have their own bathroom.
There are no TVs in the rooms, but there are TVs in the common rooms. All user rooms are equipped with telephones for incoming calls.
Wireless network (Wi-Fi) is available throughout the center.
Each group has access to a separate living room where you will find a TV, refrigerator and equipment for activities and games.
Beitostølen Health Sports Center emphasizes a healthy and varied diet and has extensive experience with various diets and special nutrition. If you have a special dietary need, you must indicate this on the questionnaire sent out.

Dinner is self-service.
Fresh fruits and vegetables are available throughout the day.
During the stay, there will be an opportunity to try out a wide range of activities based on the goals of the stay. The offer is individually tailored, but is mainly organized in groups with a focus on activity testing and skill learning.
Indoors, we have a gymnasium and sports hall, a climbing wall, a training room, a training pool and a therapy pool.
During the bare-ground season, we offer cycling and boating activities (rowing boat, canoe and kayak).
During the winter season we offer cross-country skiing, alpine skiing and ice skating.
In all seasons, the outdoor area and the surrounding area are used for schoolyard play, horseback riding and outdoor activities.
Please note that some of our activities have restrictions regarding weight, balance and other functional levels. This applies to activities such as horseback riding, paddling and seated alpine skiing, and is based on an overall assessment where our professional staff is responsible for ensuring safety in the relevant activity.
Beitostølen Health Sports Center has its own primary school department for children and young people on stay. The students are offered 6-7 hours of maintenance teaching in the basic subjects during a three-week stay.
During the stay, the student must bring a work plan and the necessary equipment they use in their education at the school. This also applies to personal aids. The school has desktop PCs for use by students who do not bring their own computer equipment.
Beitostølen Health Sports Center is a smoke-free institution. Smoking is only permitted in designated areas outdoors.
It is not permitted to store or consume alcohol or other intoxicants on the center's premises.
Children and young people aged 2-17 always have a companion with them, usually their mother or father, throughout their stay.
Companion's primary duties:
Assist the child/youth with meals, dressing, personal hygiene and the like.
Ensure that the child/youth shows up for activities at the right time, in the right place and with the right equipment and clothing - and pick them up after the activity is over.
Participate in selected activities both indoors and outdoors, - for guidance and transfer of expertise from our professional team and with a view to continuing the activities in the home environment.
Supervise the child/youth during breaks between activities, as well as assist with leisure activities in the evenings and on weekends.
Help the child/youth in the locker room in connection with pool activities.
Participate in chaperone meetings, where information is provided about the weekly schedule and organization, as well as any chaperone teaching.
We believe it is important that relatives gain insight into the rehabilitation stay and can help continue the activities after the stay.
After arrival, you can contact the doctor's office with a request to rent a room for close relatives for up to three days - for a fee and subject to availability.
Please note the following:
We do not offer schooling for siblings who are visiting.
Siblings cannot expect to participate in the organized activity program.
If you wish to invite relatives to eat at the health and sports center, this must be clarified with the staff in the dining room.
Local professionals; teachers, assistants, physiotherapists, occupational therapists and others, are invited to participate in professional days at Beitostølen Health Sports Center during the stay.

You can apply to take leave for one weekend during your stay. You can obtain an application form by contacting the doctor's office.
Travel expenses in connection with leave are usually not covered.
Beitostølen Helsesportsenter is located at the entrance to Jotunheimen in Øystre Slidre municipality in Valdres. Valdres stretches from lush water and forested valleys in the south, to Jotunheimen's mighty 2000-meter peaks in the north. The region offers a varied range of activities throughout the year.
Beitostølen city center with grocery stores, sports shops, banks, restaurants, etc. is located 1-2 km from Beitostølen Health Sports Center.
