Beitostølen Helsesportsenter has acquired solid expertise in activity aids through long and versatile experience with the use of aids in daily activity provision. We have a strong focus on constantly being at the forefront of the development of activity aids. We assist, among others, various manufacturers and suppliers with the development and testing of aids, and therefore have a lot of up-to-date equipment stationed with us at all times. We also have close cooperation with NAV Aid Centres in general and Nav Aid Centre Innlandet - Gjøvik in particular.

Beitostølen Helsesportsenter has a modern assistive devices building with facilities for storing, testing and displaying activity aids. The assistive devices building functions as an external warehouse for activity aids for the Assistive Devices Centre Gjøvik. We have employed a dedicated specialist for assistive devices who coordinates the collaboration between the health sports centre, suppliers and NAV Assistive Devices Centre.

Adaptation of activity aids plays an increasingly important role in achieving activity and participation in line with societal developments, new activity trends and technological developments. In addition, we know that many people with disabilities are dependent on assistive devices to participate in various activities, and that it can be difficult to access such aids for testing, training and loans.

As part of a stay with us, we therefore offer a functional assessment, testing of equipment and training in its use. For those who need special activity aids, Beitostølen Helsesportsenter sends a recommendation, as the basis for a commitment to allocation, to the Aids Centre and the 1st line service. Our occupational therapists and our specialist manager can, in collaboration with a local physiotherapist/occupational therapist, assist in the application process towards the right activity aid.

You can be granted activity aids to engage in activities alone or with others.

If you are younger than 26 years old, you can have the entire cost covered without having to pay a deductible. Those who are 26 years old and older must pay a deductible. The deductible is 10% of the purchase price of the assistive device, up to a deductible limit:

  • If you borrow a new aid, the deductible is a maximum of NOK 7,000 per aid.

  • If you are allowed to borrow a used assistive device, the ceiling on the deductible is NOK 2,000 per aid.

There is no deductible for special adaptations of ordinary equipment. There is also no deductible for repairs to loaned activity aids.

Activity aids are loaned through NAV's Assistance Centre. The aid is the property of the National Insurance Institute and you must return the aid when it is no longer in use.

For further information, see NAV's website about activity aids.
